2022 GALA DINNER FUNDRAISER & Squirrel Glider Art Exhibition

  • 1B Parry Street Cooks Hill, NSW, 2300 Australia (map)

The Hunter Community Environment Centre warmly invites you to our Gala Dinner fundraiser - an evening of fun and festivity, locally-made art, live music, poetry and more!

The Gala will feature:

  • Four courses; see our menu designed by Paul Winn

  • We’re welcoming the delightful Alan Glover back again as Master of Ceremonies

  • Live music from absolute legends Lu Quade Lysytsa Music, and later DJ Killionaire will saturate the evening and get us on our feet

  • Performances from poetry powerhouses – George Woods & Alexandra Morris

  • The comedic wit of chemist, Mother and up and coming comic Zoe Rogers, who debuted at the Newcastle Fringe Festival earlier this year will accompany our first course. Catch Zoe's skit at the Fringe festival here.

  • Our Coordinator Jo will share an update on the environment centre's campaign focuses, including our work on power station pollution in NSW, and an emerging biodiversity conservation alliance

  • A silent auction of the works in the Squirrel Glider show will run throughout the evening, as will a regular, noisy auction of locally-sourced goodies from our sponsors including:

🌿 Gift pack of elegant, hand-poured scented candles donated by Phoebe's Flame

🌿x3 gift packs of signature red and white wine donated by Twin Bridges Wines
    🌿Two hand-dyed silk scarves donated by Gabrielle Clappison's Eco-dyeing

🌿 Hand-crafted spice rack donated by Goodwood Constructions

🌿 Organic skin care gift hamper donated by 'BARE Nature'sKin'. $200

🌿3 nights midweek at Tara Cottage of River Flats Estate, 530 Wollombi Road, Broke. $1500.

The Squirrel Glider Show

The Gala Dinner this year will be accompanied by an art exhibition opening and auction of works by local artists including paintings, drawings, photography and prints of the Squirrel Glider - a threatened species whose local populations have underpinned the environment centre’s recent work on biodiversity conservation in the Hunter.

Entries into the Squirrel Glider Show are now closed. Thankyou to all participating artists!
