Community occupation of Newcastle harbourIt's on again! In November 2007, people from around the state will gather in Newcastle to blockade the world's biggest coal port. Stay tuned for news, or contact risingtide[at]risingtide.org.au to make sure you find out when and where to come. ---------------- In February 2007, HCEC joined Rising Tide and 150 other intrepid citizens to occupy Newcastle Harbour -- the World's Biggest Coal Port. If the Newcastle Coal Infrastructure Group gets its wish, the port will export half again as much climate-changing coal, but on World Environment Day this year, people from as far away as Brisbane, Wagga and the Blue Mountains came to Newcastle to say "No New Coal: Stop Climate Chaos" for more information visit the Rising Tide website: www.risingtide.org.au ----------------- If you missed out on taking part in the first and second harbour floats, Newcastle will do it all over again on the 3rd November 2007.
