Community walk-in at the site of the proposed third coal terminal

From Rising Tide....

Community walk-in on coal terminal construction
Saturday 8th December, 11am
Meet at Kooragang wind turbine, Newcastle

Need help to get there?

What is a walk-in?
A "walk-in" is when a large group of people in the community gather together and enter the work site of a development that is doing unacceptable harm to the environment. The purpose is to disrupt the harmful work taking place, draw attention to the issue, and show that the community is determined to stop the development from happening.

How do I get to the walk-in?

  • Rising Tide will be organising bus and/or car-pooling from the Newcastle CBD. If you have a car to offer, or want to get a lift to the site, please get in touch.
  • Newcastle Bike Ecology Centre is organising a bike-ride to the walk-in, leaving the NBEC in Islington at 10am, picking up in Mayfield on the way. See their website for more information.
  • If you're making your own way there, here are some maps: larger scale; smaller scale.
